Whether performing at the Ritz with the London Dance Orchestra, singing with his trio at Ronnie Scott’s or providing entertainment for a private party, what David loves most about his work is the variety. So grab a drink and have a look through the options below because whether you’re looking for some dinner Jazz for a corporate event or you want to make sure everyone hits the dance floor at your wedding – David Tughan might just be the answer.

Recreate the ambience of the classic Jazz era with David singing all the Rat Pack favourites of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, or bring it up to date with contemporary swingers like Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr. and Jamie Cullum. David uses quality backing tracks to produce an authentically stylish sound that works equally as well in creating atmosphere or providing a more central focus to the occasion. For longer events, David can supply recorded background music and a DJ service to keep the party on its feet.

“The Spirit of Sinatra”

The Times

What a singer! David is absolutely brilliant, he totally made the evening. His voice is fantastic but he also had the skill to read the room and tailor his performance so everyone loved it. Our first dance was Nat King Cole’s L.O.V.E and David’s voice made it so special. I will never forget everyone dancing at the end to ‘New York! New York!’. If I could do it all again I would, and David would be the first person I’d book. I would highly recommend David to anyone! Best wishes Verity & Waynne (now Mr Mrs Linaker!)

The Duo is an excellent choice for intimate soirees and social gatherings. Choose either piano or guitar as the accompaniment for David’s voice and be entertained by songs from the backbone of vocal Jazz – the Great American Songbook. David loves to perform the classics of George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter – made famous by legendary vocalists of Jazz like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald.

“A rising star… a cross between Chet Baker and Mel Torme.”

We were blown away by his talent and professionalism. He looked the part and he certainly sounded the part. My Dad loves Sinatra and the ‘Rat Pack’ so that was the type of music we asked David to sing for his 80th birthday party. Only the organisers were aware that David was coming to perform. What a fantastic surprise when he started singing – all our guests were wowed. As well as the Rat Pack stuff, he also did jazzy versions of well known new songs which were amazing too! David is a real entertainer and weeks later our guests are still talking about it. Mandy Simmons

The addition of the double bass alongside your choice of piano or guitar adds colour and depth to the overall sound, allowing more scope and variety for David to non-intrusively enrich the ambience of your party or provide the main source of entertainment as you prefer.

“One of the best in the business”

Jazz UK

We just had a small garden party with 20 guests – David was brilliant and so lovely! He arrived an hour early and stayed very late and sang everything we requested – he has a fabulous voice. The first set was in the background whilst we ate, and then the second set was more lively and had us all up dancing and singing. We all had a fabulous evening and would not hesitate to hire him again. Thank you David x Louise B.

The addition of a drummer to your trio suggests you mean business when it comes to a party. If you want to make sure that your guests hit the dance floor and stay there, the quartet is your answer. And whatever the occasion – be it a wedding to a birthday – our musicians will put the dip in your hip, the glide in your stride and swing you sweetly all night long.

“With Frank Sinatra’s phrasing and a delivery all his own”

The Times

We just wanted to say how fantastic you were performing at our wedding and how much we appreciated your professionalism and relaxed style. The day went like clockwork, was unforgettable and everything we had hoped for. You were brilliant! The feedback we got from our guests was amazing. Everybody was blown away with your performance. You were a major highlight of the day. Some guests didn’t realise you sang our exit song as they couldn’t see you. They thought it was a CD – that’s how good you were! We were delighted to be able to get to see and hear you after the official photos and the timing of our first dance to L.O.V.E was perfect. Thank you so much. Hannah (Wedding in Cheshire 2017)

If you’re really serious about dancing then turning the band into a quintet, with the addition of a trumpet or sax, will take things to the next level. And if your guests are ‘Strictly’ fans, then why not let them dream it’s their turn for a night, and complete your Jazz orchestra with a full horn section. This is a great choice for larger celebrations, and adding horns to the ensemble never fails to turn a party into an unforgettably glamorous occasion, whatever the venue.

“The perfect vocal jazz album. The whole band is absolutely flying. Please check this man out.”

David Tughan’s voice alone is simply amazing – add this to his presence, charisma, talent, humour and unbelievable connection to the songs he sings, makes David a truly mind-blowing artist. I have seen him perform on several occasions over the years and every time my spine tingles, my eyes prick with tears and my heart soars. I always leave feeling elated.
If you are lucky enough to hear about one of his gigs, buy a ticket and take everybody you know. Better still have a party and book him to perform – this artist is a true star. Thank you David Tughan.
